What We Do

CELF provides consulting services, training programs and educational programs, in order to make sustainability education an integral part of the K-12 learning experience. Our programs for educators, students and the community complement our consulting services by providing necessary training and varying routes to bring sustainability education into the classroom.

CELF programs use sustainability as an integrating context for teaching and learning, decision-making, civic engagement, community partnerships and campus practices. The lens of sustainability transforms curriculum, school operations, physical surroundings and school-community activities and fosters the creation of responsible citizens.

We offer both standardized and customized programs, and can modify our standard programs to meet our clients' goals and timeframe. If you are interested in designing a program for your school or district, classroom, PTA or student organization, contact Katie Ginsberg, CELF Executive Director.

Finding and creating educational links to the most innovative thinkers in the corporate and non-profit world benefits both students and teachers as well as the economy, the environment and communities. We partner with inspiring thought leaders to help introduce educators to their work and provide speakers for various events. We also create instructional information to promote student understanding and interest in various sustainability topics. “I learned that education for sustainability is a way for our declining nation to re-invent and re-vitalize itself. The organization, spirit of questioning, and positive leadership throughout CELF’s Institute were appreciated!”
